Newborn sessions are all about slowing down for a minute and documenting exactly who your baby is right now. We’ll get all those tiny details, sweet sleepy portraits, snuggles with Mom and Dad, siblings loving on their new baby—and all the little moments in between.
Sessions are completely baby-led, which means nobody is watching the clock waiting for your baby to cooperate. If they need to eat, we stop. If they need to be changed, we stop. If they just need Mom for a while, that’s exactly what we do. You can come to my studio where everything is ready for you, or I can come to your home for a more relaxed, lifestyle feel. Either way, you don't need to worry about your baby “behaving” for pictures. I promise, I've got you ❤️

Before baby arrives, we’ll talk about what you’re envisioning for your newborn session—studio or in-home, colors, outfits, who you’d like included, and anything special you want to incorporate.
A newborn session lasts approximately 2-3 hours (Remember, we're working on the baby's schedule). The session can be in-studio or in your home.
About 7–10 days later, you’ll come back to the studio and see your baby's photos for the first time! We’ll go through everything together, and yes, there’s a very good chance you’re going to cry 😂
Digitals are delivered quickly after your session for you to post and share! Albums and wall art take a little longer because they’re being professionally made just for your family.

Ideally, reach out while you’re still pregnant! We’ll reserve your session around your due date, and then adjust once your little nugget actually decides to make their appearance! Typically the best time to shoot is in that 7-10 day window when they're still in a little sleepy coma 😊
If baby is already here and you haven’t booked newborn photos yet—don’t panic! Reach out anyway. While those first few weeks are wonderful for capturing all the tiny newborn details, there is no magical expiration date for beautiful baby photos.
As a newborn photographer in Springfield, MO, I photograph babies at all different stages, and we’ll create something beautiful whether your baby is 7 days or 7 weeks old.
Honestly? Mostly yourselves and the baby. 😂 If we’re photographing your newborn session in my studio, I’ll help you plan everything beforehand so you aren't packing your entire house just to come take pictures.
Bring the things baby normally needs—diapers, wipes, bottles or feeding supplies, a pacifier if they use one, and an extra outfit because... babies 😂 You’re also welcome to bring anything sentimental you’d love incorporated into the photos.
If the session is in your home, you have everything you need there! I'll bring basket, blankets, swaddles and some props so you don't have to worry about any of that.
Both are beautiful—they just have a different feel!
Studio newborn sessions give us a controlled space where everything is ready for you - They're perfect if you love a polished, timeless look and want to get out of the house for a bit.
In-home newborn sessions are more relaxed and lifestyle-focused. We can photograph your family snuggled up on the couch, baby in the nursery you spent months putting together, or everyone piled onto your bed. And, bonus: you don't have to pack up a newborn and leave the house. 😂
I offer both studio and in-home newborn photography in Springfield, Missouri and the surrounding areas, and I'll help you decide which one fits your family best.

Bringing home a baby is a huge change for the whole family, and I love documenting big brothers and sisters meeting, snuggling, poking, inspecting and occasionally looking mildly suspicious of their newest family member 😂
We'll photograph the new baby alone, with siblings, with Mom and Dad, and everyone together. And don't worry if your toddler has absolutely zero interest in cooperating. We'll work around them, too.
*Sessions with toddlers are typically easier with an in-home session so they can run around and do their own thing. If you'd like to do an in-studio session, bring another adult to entertain them 😊
Then your baby is being... a baby 😂 Newborn sessions are completely baby-led, which means I don't expect your little one to sleep on command or cooperate with some imaginary photoshoot schedule. I intentionally leave room for feeding, changing, soothing and breaks, so there is no reason to stress if your baby is fussy.
Don’t worry—fussy babies don’t ruin newborn sessions! I’ve photographed plenty of babies who had absolutely no intention of sleeping through their photos! We’ll take our time, follow your baby’s lead, and work with whatever mood they’re giving us that day. Some of the sweetest images happen when everything doesn’t go according to plan ❤️

And this is one of my favorite things to photograph 🥰 Your baby changes SO much during that first year—from the tiny newborn you bring home to smiles, sitting, crawling, standing, and suddenly... somehow we're planning a first birthday session?! You can book individual baby milestone sessions, or ask me about my Grow With Me options if you want to document the whole first year.
